Romantic Love and Feng Shui

All is fair in love and war they say. So, it might seem like a great idea to enhance your love life by using some simple methods suggested by the ancient wisdom Feng Shui.

According to Feng Shui experts the free flow of chi in the southwestern section of a person's home ensures the flourishing of romantic relationships and hence happy marriages. This corner of your home is known as the "Relationship Gua" in Feng Shui. So, one should make sure that this corner is kept cozy and intimate.

Since the element of the southwest is the earth enhancing this section of the house with earthy materials such as plants, rocks, clay or terracotta is advisable. In case you have paintings that depict natural scenes (though it is best to avoid water) these could be used as well.

Make sure that all sharp edges (which may be created by pillars and certain furniture) are well concealed. Because they are called 'poison arrows" and generate "sha chi" or negative energy which will negatively impact your relationship.

Here are some simple Feng Shui solutions that will help you attract love and romance into your life or help you enhance your present relationship.

Remove all pictures that depict single people. However, that does not mean that you replace them with crowds of people. What you should do is replace these pictures with soft romantic pictures. Peonies are a powerful symbol of love in Feng shui.

Hanging a picture of these flowers helps attract love and romance into one's life.

Statues or pictures of pairs of mandarin ducks are considered especially lucky as these ducks stay with the same mate throughout life.

Hang a wind chime from the southern window. This will bring in positive yang energy.

Chandeliers placed in this section usher in a lot of positive energy.

If you are going through troubled times in your relationship try placing a water fountain in the south western corner of your house. This will have a very calming effect on your relationship.

The bedroom is the seat of romantic love in your house. So, placing a heart shaped rose quartz in the south western corner of your bedroom is a powerful way of enhancing romance.

Keep the television out of the bedroom. It is a very obvious deterrent in your couple life. Try engaging in conversation with each other, read books or listen to music instead.

Red and other warm colours belonging to its family are said to enhance romance so use these colours when painting your bedroom. However, be careful about overusing red in the bedroom because it can then arouse emotions like anger instead of passion.

No mirrors in the bedroom.

Use candles of all shapes to light up your bedroom. This will help create an aura of romance. Avoid harsh electrical lighting. It destroys romance.

Do not keep family photographs, children's art work etc in the bedroom. These will come in the way of your romance. You obviously don't want your octogenarian grandmother looking on when you are making love!

The brass Wu Lu gourd which has two lobes representing the male and female energies is the Chinese symbol for love, longevity and romantic harmony. Placing such a gourd at the end of the bed is a powerful way of activating the romantic chi in the bedroom.

Proper placement of the bed is also of key importance. Do not place the bed too close to the entrance. It is also not advisable to place the bed on the same wall as the toilet. This is said to drain energy which can affect a relationship negatively.

While sleeping place your head towards the northwest.

Though these tips can help to enhance your romantic life, it is important to have complete faith in these principles while trying them out. Because it is your faith that will determine whether it works for you or not!

Quick and Easy Feng Shui Hacks For Romance and Marriage

1) One of the most important factors for the energy surrounding your love life is the placement of your bed. On the one hand, your bed's placement greatly influences how well you sleep at night, which affects your energy and your mood. Ideally, your bed is placed as far from your door as possible. If your front door is in your front right corner, your bed is ideally placed in your back left corner, and vice versa. Make sure your beds' headboard is placed firmly against the wall, and that the door is clearly visible when lying down.

2) Your bedroom is a place for peace, beauty and connection. It is not a place for distractions. Anything that doesn't directly have to do with resting or connecting with your partners hurts your relationship. That means minimizing all work related materials, TVs, computers, your phone, and anything else that will distract you. These distractions include bookcases and anything else that is overly stimulating in the wrong ways.

3) If your bedroom is cluttered, your love life and relationships will also be cluttered. Minimize tall, bulky, imposing furniture. Remove stacks of papers, books, DVDs, whatever. Keep the space clean and clear. And always, always make your bed.

4) Make sure all the love corners in your house are well optimized. This includes within your bathroom, your kitchen, your living room, your guest room, your study, your lawn, etc. While the love corner in your bedroom is the most powerful factor for your romantic success, all of these other corners contribute to your hearts' energetic flow.

5) Pink and Red sheets are ideal for your bed. Pink sheets attract love, tenderness and relationships. Red sheets bring in passion and sizzle to your bedroom. Decide which one you want, or buy both and alternate according to your desires.

6) Do NOT keep mementos or items from previous relationships in your bedroom. When you end a relationship or separate from a partner, remove any items that will either bring back painful memories or leave them energetically hanging around. While you don't necessarily need to remove all these items while you are still mourning the relationship, you must make sure they are all gone before you start looking for your next partner. If you are a serial monogamist and change partners infrequently, it's also a good idea to purchase new bed sheets after each relationship.

7) Keep plants or trees in your relationship corners. Planting healthy new trees in the relationship corner of your yard is a good idea when looking to either strengthen or form a new relationship, while placing plants in the relationship corner of your rooms (especially your bedroom) is a great cure-all. Of course, this predicates that you don't have your bed in your relationship corner.

8) Keep pairs of items in your relationship corner. Make sure your bed has two pillows, make sure you have two candles, make sure any hanging artwork displays a happy couple (or more if you are aiming for more than one partner). By making room for one or more partner in your life, and by sending the energetic symbol that you desire at least a pairing in your love life, you make your intentions unmistakable.
